How to Use Your Sound Beginnings
An Introduction
Sound Beginnings was designed to be a comfortable, durable, and easy-to-use way to allow a pregnant woman to share music and voice with her baby to be. To enhance your experience and extend the life of the product, please read the information provided in the drop down sections on this page.

Step-by-step
Using Your Sound Beginnings
1. Make sure that your MP3 player is fully charged and that any recordings you wish to play have been uploaded to the device. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND USING A CELL PHONE MUSIC PLAYER WITH THE DEVICE.
2. Step into or put over your head, position the Sound Beginnings around your belly with the pocket in the front and the opening facing up.
3. Gently extend the cord from the pocket.
Do not try to pull the cord out of the pocket completely as it is attached to the integrated speakers and too much force may damage the device.
4. Attach your MP3 player.
a. If you wish to listen along, first insert the splitter that has been provided into the headphone port on your device. Next insert the stereo miniplugs for the device as well for the headphones that you will be using.
b. Insert the 3.5mm stereo miniplug into the headphone port on your player.
5. Select a track or play list and press “play.”
6. If you are listening along, you may need to adjust the volume on your MP3 player.
The Sound Beginnings device has been designed to expose the baby to no more than 85 decibels of sound at maximum volume. While this is a safe level for up to eight (8) hours of exposure, we do not recommend using the device for no longer than two (2) hours per day (24 hour).
7. Insert the MP3 player into the pocket and secure the Velcro tabs.
8. Remove the MP3 player before taking off the device
9. Secure the cord in the pocket and close the Velcro.
10. Follow the Manufacturer’s instructions for care and storage of the device.
Care & Storage
Ways to keep your Sound Beginnings operating smoothly
1. Remove your MP3 player before taking off or washing the Sound Beginnings.
2. Secure the cord in the pocket and close the Velcro before washing or storing your Sound Beginnings.
3. Hand washing is recommended. You may machine wash on the gentle cycle only using only cold water. Make sure that the cord has been secured in the front pocket with the Velcro sealed before washing.
4. Air dry until the device is completely dry.
a. DO NOT wear the device while wet.
b. Drying the device using a conventional dryer is NOT recommended and will void the warranty.
5. Store your Sound Beginnings as you would any electronic device. Do not place any heavy objects on top of the device as this may damage the speakers.
Important Information & Precautions
1. The device is recommended for use during the third (3) trimester of pregnancy. For specific recommendations on usage, consult your obstetrician.
2. This device is not a toy or intended to be used as such. Any use apart from that originally intended by the manufacturer and/or modifying the device in any way will void the warranty.
3. Do not use the device with any MP3 player that emits a cell phone or WiFi signal, as to the long term effects on the baby are unknown of such transmissions.
4. If you are listening along, do not attempt to drive, use heavy machinery, or engage in any other activity that requires concentration and/or the ability to hear and respond to external sounds.
5. Do not wear the device while showering, swimming or engaging in any other activity that could cause the device to become wet
6. While you may choose to wear the device for extended periods of time, we do not recommend using the device for longer than two (2) hours daily (24 hours).
7. You will select the music and sound to be played for your baby-to-be. Please consider this before choosing what to play.
8. We do not recommend using Sound Beginnings within one (1) week of expected delivery date, or during the day of delivery.
